Working CSA Members

Working CSA Member Application

Why become a Working CSA Member on Red Wagon Farm? You’ll gain a better understanding of how Red Wagon works and how we get food to our community. You’ll be an integral part of our crew to make it all happen!

We are looking for people who will commit to one regular weekly shift during our CSA season (May 26 – Oct 24) and who will be available for the majority of the summer. (It is not a good fit for us to have people who will be out of town a lot or otherwise have to miss more than 2 or 3 shifts.) You must be able to commit to working through the end of the farm season in late October. For each shift you work, you earn credit towards one week of CSA veggies. Due to the daily schedule at the farm, we have different length shifts (3 to 4.5 hours) for the different roles on the farm. See below for details.

Wash/Pack Area Crew As part of our Wash/Pack Area Crew you will help wash/process/pack vegetables. You will also help clean equipment. You will work at our location at Thomas Open Space farm in Lafayette. Available shifts are 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm. For each 3-hour shift you work, you earn credit towards one week of CSA veggies (a Regular Veggie Share).

CSA Crew  As part of our CSA Crew you will help distribute veggies at one of our four CSA pickup locations. (See a map of locations on our website.) You will work a 3.5 to 4.5-hour shift sometime between 2:30 pm and 7 pm. For each shift you work, you earn credit towards one week of CSA veggies (a Large Veggie Share).

You will come work with us for one trial shift before you commit to the rest of the season. Please fill out our application and you’ll hear from us soon!
