More of our summer crops are coming out of the field this week, including eggplant. We have a few different varieties we like to grow- Barbarella (pictured), Italian, and Japanese eggplant. Some people prefer to use the Barbarella more for baba ghanoush, the Italian eggplant for eggplant parmesan or other roasted dishes, and the Japanese eggplant for stir fry, but it is all up to personal preference.
After a rainy spring/early summer, we’re hoping the hot, sunny conditions the next few days will bring peppers and tomatoes to you soon. We will also have peaches again for the fruit share this week. See you at pick-up!

We will have carrots again this week and cabbage for everyone. Our farm store opened yesterday so it’s getting busy around here!
Farm-fresh carrots are such a treat. They’re sweet and full of flavor. Perfect on they’re own or in a slaw or stir-fry. Cabbage is another favorite and is so versatile. Throw it in a stir-fry, make some sauerkraut, or pair it with carrots in a slaw.

Carrots are new this week! We’ll have cherries and apricots again for the fruit share. Our cucumber plants are looking amazing this year- we planted and trellised them in the greenhouse to protect them more from pests and they’re thriving! They are so delicious and refreshing as a simple snack or thrown in a salad.
Our farm store will also open this coming week on Thursday, July 17th.

It was hot at CSA this week and it looks like next week will be the same. We will have fava beans again- if you haven’t used them before and aren’t familiar with them, check out our website for how to prepare them. They’re a great addition to summer pasta or salad dishes. Even just cooking them in a little butter with salt and pepper is delicious too.

Happy summer! We have some new crops this week- fennel and kohlrabi. If you haven’t used kohlrabi much before, check out our website for some recipe inspiration. It’s a pretty versatile vegetable- roast it, put it in a stir fry, or slice it thin and put it in a salad.

It’s already Week 4 and summer is nearly here. We have more spring veggies to bring you this week as we wait for our warm weather crops to grow.
A lot of people have been asking about sorrel this week. If you’ve never used it and love the taste of lemon, you should definitely try it- in eggs, pesto, a salad, or even a chimichurri. It adds a little burst of flavor that’s addicting. Get creative with it!

We had another great week at CSA. Garlic scapes, turnips, and spring onions are all new this week, as well as some new herbs. We have lettuce for everyone too.
I hope you’ve been loving all the greens! Pesto has been a go-to for me- I’ll throw some garlic and whatever greens I have on hand together with parmesan, lemon juice, salt, and olive oil.

We had a great first week of CSA. The sun came out yesterday at pick-up after a cloudy, rainy past few days and it felt so good to be soaking it in. We loved all the excitement around fresh veggies again.
It is Week 2 of CSA, which means it’s the first week for Biweekly B members. We have asparagus and greens again this week, along with some green garlic. Rhubarb is also new this week! You can never go wrong with something sweet- maybe a crisp or a pie.
