Volunteer

CarrotsRed Wagon Organic Farm is looking for good folks who would like to volunteer at our farm on N 63rd Street (at Oxford Road). We’d love your assistance! You will get a ton of vegetable growing and food knowledge and a fun time! You will also get a veggie voucher to use in exchange for your help (voucher good for veggies at our booth at the Boulder Farmers’ Market or our farm stands). Our volunteer program is run by Mo McKenna, vegetable grower and foodie extraordinaire! You will never meet another person who is more passionate about food!

“It gives me a sense of camaraderie with likeminded people, and it makes me proud to be able to support the local food movement with my time. I also do it for the exercise and learning experience. I learn while working at Red Wagon. Each day I volunteer, it makes me realize how small my growing knowledge is, despite having over 30 years of gardening experience.”

–Cara, Red Wagon Volunteer 2011 & 2012

Our volunteer day is Tuesday morning from 8am to noon. We would like to add a second morning if there is interest. A typical day might include weeding, caring for our herd of alpacas, llamas, and goats, harvesting, and general plant care.

We ask for an ongoing commitment for the entire 2012 season. Sure it’s hard work, but if you’re up for it, we’ll teach you a lot and it will be a win-win for all!

Sorry, but we are a serious production farm with all the associated hazards. We find our farm runs best without children or dogs on work days so we can’t accommodate either from our volunteers.
