Working CSA Members

Why become a Working CSA Member on Red Wagon Farm? You’ll gain a better understanding of how Red Wagon works and how we get food to our community. You’ll be an integral part of our crew to make it all happen!

We are looking for people who will commit to one regular weekly shift and who will be available for the majority of the summer. (It is not a good fit for us to have people who will be out of town a lot or otherwise have to miss multiple shifts.) You must be able to commit to working through the end of the farm season in late October. For each shift you work, you earn credit towards one week of CSA veggies. Due to the daily schedule at the farm, we have different length shifts (3 or 4 hours) for the different roles on the farm. See below for details.

CSA Crew As part of our CSA Crew you will help distribute veggies at one of our five CSA pickup locations. (See a map of locations on our CSA page.) Our CSA starts May 23 and goes through October 19. You will work a 4-hour shift sometime between 2:30 pm and 7 pm. For each 4-hour shift you work, you earn credit towards one week of CSA veggies (a Large Veggie Share).

Wash/Pack Area Crew As part of our Wash/Pack Area Crew you will help wash/process/pack vegetables for distribution to our CSA. You will also help clean equipment. You will work at our location at Thomas Open Space farm in Lafayette. Available shifts are 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm. For each 3-hour shift you work, you earn credit towards one week of CSA veggies (a Regular Veggie Share).

Farm Crew We are not certain if we will have Working CSA Members help on our Farm Crew this season as there is a lot of training to be a part of our farm crew. You can send an email to hiring@redwagonfarmboulder.com if you’d like to be notified if we do open work share spots for our farm crew.

You will come work with us for one trial shift before you commit to the rest of the season. Please fill out our application and you’ll hear from us soon!
